很多人等啊等，想等自己“准备好了”再说。但在Mandarin Inn，有一位老师总对她的学生说：不必等。

她叫翟丽娜，学生叫她 Linda。在上海市中心一栋百年老洋房里，她用最朴素的方式教中文：让学生说出来，用起来。
Her name is Zhai Lina. Her students call her Linda. Inside a century-old heritage villa in downtown Shanghai, she teaches Chinese in the simplest way possible: speak it, use it, live it.

Looking back on her first Chinese class with a foreign student, her feelings were different from what most people might expect.
“第一次教外国学生中文时，我并没有感到紧张，反而满心期待与兴奋。课前我做了十分充分的准备，也有信心可以根据学生的课堂反馈，灵活调整授课节奏与教学内容，把这一节课上好。”
"I wasn't nervous the first time I taught Chinese to a foreign student. Instead, I was full of anticipation and excitement. I prepared thoroughly before class, and I felt confident that I could adjust the pace and content flexibly based on the student's response."

“一个粗糙的开始就是最好的开始。不要等自己学得足够好了才开口，试着把刚学到的词句用到真实生活里，大胆主动地去表达，在真实的沟通中不断学习和完善。”
"A rough start is the best start. Don't wait until you feel good enough to speak. Try using the words and phrases you've just learned in real life. Express yourself boldly. Keep learning and improving through real communication."
她相信，每一次开口，都意味着进步。
She believes every time you open your mouth, you're moving forward.
“如果可以，多交一些中国朋友，坚持日常交流。让语言学习走出教室，融入生活，这样进步就会快很多。”
"If possible, make some Chinese friends and keep up daily conversations. Let language learning step out of the classroom and into your life. You'll improve much faster that way."

Life Beyond Teaching
课堂之外，Linda 有两个世界。
Outside the classroom, Linda has two worlds.
“我喜欢旅行。有时候和学生分享交流旅途中的见闻，大家都很感兴趣，课堂氛围也更轻松。”
"I love traveling. Sometimes I share stories from my trips with my students. They're always very interested, and the classroom atmosphere becomes lighter."
而另一个世界，是成语故事与文言文。
Her other world is Chinese idioms and classical Chinese.
“我也喜欢中国传统文化，比如成语故事与文言文。有时候家长希望孩子拓展这方面知识，这恰好是我的兴趣所长。爱好和教学就这样互相滋养。”
"I also love traditional Chinese culture - idiom stories and classical Chinese. Sometimes parents want their children to explore this area, and it happens to be my specialty. My hobbies and my teaching nourish each other."
兴趣与教学，在她身上形成了一种自然的循环。她给学生的不只是语言点，更是一扇通往文化的窗。
Interest and teaching form a natural cycle in her life. What she gives her students isn't just language points - it's a window into culture.

但对她来说，这份职业最珍贵的部分，不是趋势，不是数据，而是人和人之间的相互照亮。
But for her, the most precious part of this profession isn't trends or data. It's the way people illuminate each other.
“这份职业带给我最大的收获，是双向成长。我带着学生学习中文、了解中国文化，学生也带着他们国家的文化、想法来启发我，让我看见了多元的世界。”
"The greatest reward this career has given me is two-way growth. I guide students in learning Chinese and understanding Chinese culture. At the same time, they bring their own cultures and ideas to inspire me, opening my eyes to a diverse world."
“每一次看到学生从开口困难，到能够自如地用中文表达自己，我都特别感动。这份工作让我体会到，语言真正的意义，是连接不同的人。”

“我的教学理念就是鼓励学生轻松开口。语言是交流的工具。课堂上，我会尽可能多地为学生提供目的语的输入与输出练习，创造表达机会，鼓励学生把中文说出来、用起来。”

For those preparing for the international Chinese teacher certification, her advice is gentle and practical.
“笔试方面，要沉下心打牢基础知识，多梳理、多刷题。面试更考验心态，不用过度紧张，自信从容地把自己的教学能力充分展现出来就好。”
"For the written exam, settle down and build a solid foundation. Review and practice as much as you can. The interview is more about mindset. Don't overthink it - just show your teaching ability with confidence and composure."
但她最想说的，是证书之外的东西。
But what she really wants to emphasize goes beyond the certificate.
“证书只是一个起点，最重要的还是保持热爱，在教学实践里不断学习、继续成长。”
"The certificate is just a starting point. What matters most is to keep your passion alive, keep learning through teaching practice, and continue growing."
